GCWP gives juniors a clear local pathway to learn, develop and compete, while remaining part of their Gold Coast water polo community.
Wednesdays: High-quality coaching and player development
Fridays: Competitive game experience and district representation
⭐ WEDNESDAYS: TRAIN & DEVELOP
Players from across all four Gold Coast districts train together at Trinity Lutheran College (Senior Campus) each Wednesday under the direction of Matt Negline and the GCWP coaching team.
Sessions provide structured, high-quality coaching for players at every stage of their water polo development, with a focus on building strong fundamentals, confidence and understanding of the game. Active, game-based sessions help players develop at their level while having fun and making friends along the way.

Train on Wednesday... Play for your district on Friday!
The learning doesn’t stop at training. On Friday nights, players take what they have developed during the week into the newGold Coast Junior District Competition at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, Southport.
Players represent their district in fair, competitive games designed to provide meaningful opportunities for every player in U10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups.
Friday competition gives juniors the chance to:
- Put their skills into practice through regular game experience
- Develop decision-making, teamwork and confidence
- Learn how to compete as part of a team
- Make friends and play with juniors from across the Gold Coast
- Develop a genuine love of competitive water polo

The opportunities don’t stop with weekly training and competition. Throughout the season, juniors can also take part in tournaments and events, continue developing through GCWP Academy, and explore representative opportunities as they progress.
