The Lutzy Fast 5's Water Polo Competition is an action-packed event featuring exciting matches, prizes, food, and plenty of fun. The competition is held in honour of Lutzy and recognises his outstanding contributions to the Gold Coast Water Polo Club.

Competition Rules

  • Mixed teams must have at least one female player in the water at all times.
  • Teams consist of 5–9 players, with 1 goalkeeper and 4 field players in the water.
  • Excluded players must swim to the corner and return to re-enter play.
  • Following a goal, play restarts with the goalkeeper. There will be no centre restart.
  • Matches consist of 2 x 7-minute running halves.

Game lengths may be adjusted depending on the number of team nominations.

Competition Requirements

  • The first game of the day is responsible for setting up, and the last game is responsible for packing up.
  • All players must be registered with Water Polo Queensland through their club or Gold Coast Water Polo.
  • Players aged 16–17 years wishing to compete in the Open division must submit an approved age exemption by 3 August 2026.
  • Each Open team must provide one referee. New referees will be paired with an experienced referee.
  • Clubs entering multiple teams may request a single invoice for all team nominations.
