LOOKING FOR A FUN NEW SPORT FOR YOUR CHILD?

Come and give water polo a go!

Come & Try gives kids a chance to get in the pool and see what water polo is actually like before committing to the season.

No experience? No problem! Your child doesn’t need to know the rules or come from a water polo family. They simply need to be comfortable swimming 25 metres and confident in the deep end of the pool.

Water polo is about much more than learning to throw a ball in a pool. Kids build confidence, fitness, teamwork, communication and resilience, while making friends and having fun.

For some children, it becomes a sport they simply love playing with their friends. For others, it can lead to Friday night competition, tournaments, GCWP Academy and representative opportunities.

⭐ WHAT WILL THEIR FIRST SESSION BE LIKE?

They'll join one of our regular Wednesday Junior Training sessions at Trinity Lutheran College, alongside other GCWP junior players. The trial is for a 2 week period.

Our coaches will introduce them to the game through active, age-appropriate training where they can:

  • Get comfortable with a water polo ball
  • Learn some basic passing, movement and shooting skills
  • Meet the coaches and other junior players
  • Join in at their own level
  • Have fun and give the game a go!

⭐ WHEN & WHERE?

Join our Wednesday Junior Training

📍 Trinity Lutheran College Senior Campus, Ashmore Road
🕒 10 Years & Under: 5:30pm–6:30pm
🕒 11 Years & Over: 6:00pm–7:15pm

⭐ READY TO GIVE IT A GO?

If your child can swim 25 metres confidently and is comfortable in deep water, we'd love them to come and give water polo a try!

⭐ WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once you've sent us your child's details, we'll help you with the next step and everything you need for their first session.

Loved it? Keep playing! If your child wants to continue, we'll help you understand registration, Wednesday training, Friday District Competition and the other opportunities available through GCWP Juniors.
