Junior Tournaments & Events

MORE GAMES. MORE EXPERIENCES. MORE OPPORTUNITIES TO PLAY.
Throughout the season, GCWP juniors have opportunities to take part in tournaments, championships and special events beyond the regular Friday night competition.
These events give players the chance to play more water polo, compete against different teams, travel with teammates and experience the wider water polo community.
From local events to Queensland Championships and national competition, there are opportunities for players at different ages and stages of their development.
⭐ FRIDAY GAMES BUILD TO BIGGER OPPORTUNITIES
Regular game time is an important part of player development.
Friday District Competition is where juniors put the skills they develop at Wednesday Academy into practice. Through regular games, players build game awareness, decision-making, teamwork and confidence, while learning how to move, defend, work with teammates and make decisions under pressure.
That experience helps prepare players to step into larger tournaments and championships throughout the season.
Train on Wednesdays... Play on Fridays...Take it to tournaments!

⭐ WHICH EVENTS CAN MY CHILD PLAY?
Not every event is for every age group, and team entries depend on factors including player numbers, age eligibility and team availability.
GCWP will communicate opportunities to eligible families throughout the season, including event details, expressions of interest, team arrangements, costs and registration requirements.
Not sure which opportunities are right for your child? We’ll help you understand what’s available as the season progresses.
⭐ KEEP PLAYING. KEEP DEVELOPING.
Tournaments are one part of the wider GCWP junior pathway. Regular Wednesday Academy training and Friday District Competition help players build the skills and game experience they can take into tournaments, championships and future representative opportunities.
