Regional Member – Tier 1
Any player who is competing in a competition run entirely by their club or association in a regional area, and upgrading to participate at a State or National Based competition.
Regional Member – Tier 2
Any player who is competing in a competition run entirely by their club or association in a regional area.
Non-Playing Member / Official
Any non-playing participant. i.e. Referee, Coach, Committee Member, Team Managers, Volunteers etc.
Juniors wishing to participate in open grade divisions must fall within 3 years of turning 18 years old.
Those born in 2001 or 2002 must apply for a Senior (Open) Exemption from WPQ.

Senior Exemption Form
Our A Grade competition currently has 4 teams and is the pinnacle of our competition. A Grade is for the more experienced players and is open to both men and women. In our player group we have current and former National League, State and Australian representative players as well as local players that have come up through our B grade competition and are looking for a more challenging game. Should you wish to play this season and don’t already have a team please contact the A Grade Coordinator and we can assess your level of ability and allocate you to a team.
This year our teams will be Griffith Pirates, Desperados, GC Beers and the Brown Bombers. If you wish to play you will need to register with Water Polo Queensland and also pay your portion of the team fee to the captain of your allocated team.

GCWP Season Rules
Gold Coast Water Polo’s B Grade competition includes six teams. The competition caters for beginners to intermediate players and it is open to both men and women. Many of our players got their start in water polo through our highly successful Junior Development Program.
The B grade competition provides a platform for players who enjoy playing for social and fitness reasons and to those seeking to compete at a higher level of water polo. Should you wish to play this season and don’t already have a team please contact the B Grade Coordinator and we can assess your level of ability and allocate you to a team.
This year our teams will be Griffith Pirates, Desperados, Miami Bombers, Bond University, Torpedoes and the Brown Bombers. If you wish to play you will need to register with Water Polo Queensland. A team nomination fee applies for this competition and you will be also required to pay your portion of the team fee to the captain of your allocated team.
Spirit of B-Grade
The women’s competition runs on a Thursday night at Miami Aquatic Centre. This upcoming season we are seeing some big changes with 4 new teams being entered into the competition. This year the teams will be Dolphins, Penguins, Turtles and Unicorns.
These teams have been formed from current and new players to try to make an even and exciting competition. Anyone who wishes to play can contact the Women’s Grade Coordinator.
This competition is inclusive of all skill levels from beginners to more advanced players. However being a competent swimmer is necessary.

The 2017/18 Juniors Summer Competition will commence on the 10th October. The junior competition caters for players born 2003 to 2005. Teams are comprised of mixed girls and boys and player are distributed evenly across the teams based on ability.
This competition will be run at Miami Aquatic Centre on Tuesday nights with a structured training program run on Thursday nights alongside the seniors also at Miami Aquatic Centre.
Should you wish to play in the 2017/18 Junior Summer Competition please register to GCWP and purchase the Junior Summer Comp product when prompted.

Note. Week 1 (10th Oct) is grading week, and all players will be allocated teams.
